Fuel Subsidy Strike and Crime

This strike has even worsened the usual slow january business. I have not seen the hotel this empty before but I think I like it – for a change, it’s just that we are already getting ourselves in trouble. I was running to catch the staff bus so I don’t spend my little money on transport fares when I saw my colleague being escorted by the security officer out of the building. He was fired because he was caught with a lot of money and an iphone belonging to a guest. He took the items because he said he didn’t have any money for himself and his family. I actually felt sorry for him but stealing was not the solution to his problem; Now he has lost his job even though he was very hardworking. This inflation as a result of removal of fuel subsidy will definitely increase crime and corruption everywhere.
